Got a Girl Crush On: Kim Gordon and Daisy Von Furth’s epicly 90s women’s line X-girl

In honor of the launch of Kim Gordon’s new memoir, Girl In a Band, we wanted to throwback to the day’s of babydoll ringer tees and mini-dresses that were in part made popular in the 90s (along with theDelia*s catalog), by cult women’s label X-girl. Founded by Gordon and stylist pal Daisy Von Furth, they staged their own gorilla-style fashion show to launch the line and a 16-minute-long trés trés ennui art film (staring Chloe Sevigny, Kim Gordon and Marc Jacobs).

Kim wasn’t just making clothes for downtown city girls on the side, she was also making all-lady supergroups with Pussy Galore’s Julie Cafritz and Bordem’s Yoshimi P-We, called Free Kitten (and are rumored to be recording a new album soon!).
