Got a Girl Crush On: Environment equality activist, Majora Carter

This TED Talk is worth watching if you have 18 minutes to spare.

Majora Carter is New York native and MacArthur “genius” grant-winning activist who details her fight for environmental justice in the South Bronx. She helped found Sustainable South Bronx which helped reclaim abandoned, neglected, and polluted space and turn it into public parks and greenways, as well as bringing green roofs and green-collar jobs into the area. Her main focus is to show how minority neighborhoods suffer most from flawed urban policy, but how a community can thrive despite of this through environmental equality and “greening the ghetto.”
